SXSW!! - LOCAL FAVORITE GUILLA ANNOUNCES SXSW PERFORMANCE, SAYS “PIT STOP EN ROUTE TO SATURN.” ALL THE DETAILS.

Houston, Texas – (February 29, 2016) The music portion of Austin's annual music and technology conference, South by South West, is set to kick off on March 15th and once again, they have a formidable lineup that includes everyone from Country Legend Loretta Lynn to Grammy Award winning singer Estelle.

Joining this year’s legion of rising artists is Houston favorite, Guilla – described as a musical tastemaker with a penchant for channeling sophisticated and high energy sets. Guilla received overwhelming response as a featured artist in last year’s Free Press Summer Fest, alongside associated acts The Suffers, Gio Chamba, and Catch Fever. His influences run the gamut – ranging from Björk to Cam’ron to cult movie classics like The Fifth Element and Samurai X.

“I am very interested in the unknown, the search for enlightenment and the challenge that it brings. I believe there are infinite dimensions and that in another universe, South by South West is merely a pit stop on the way to Saturn,” said Guilla. “And why not? Music has no boundaries,” he continued.

Why You Should Pay Attention: Guilla is part of a generation of producers/rappers connecting the dots between experimental, alternative, and trip-hop: from Guilla’s critically-acclaimed Rap,Trap, and Drums to the highly anticipated Children of the Sun, recorded between Home School Studios and the legendary Sugar Hill Studios (out April 12) . Sending listeners into a trance is exactly what Guilla intends to do with undogmatic and adept lyricism and textured instrumentals.

Invigoratingly fresh, with soul-shaking percussions, Guilla is one artist you’ll want to see in action.  Catch him on Thursday, March 17th at SXSW. For tickets or more information, visit www.sxsw.com.
